advocacy ad on a grocery cart
Time is a funny thing. Leave work for a week, come back & things are piled up to the ceiling requring twice the hours to clean up the resulting work for the following week.
Why do we do it? Taking a break should be about bringing down stress levels, not increasing them within a day of your return to work. Working smarter, not harder and tidying up small piles of work while still away makes it a hell of a lot easier to ease back into work when you get back to the office - this is one benefit of a Blackberry email access on your mobile. This does require discipline though - you don’t want to spend your entire holiday on your Blackberry or Iphone doing work - you may as well be still in the office.
Enjoy your holidays, don’t squander them and create a way to ease back into work rather than walking into an ambush.
